Well smurf *vent*

SO's dad died yesterday. SO's sister came up to talk to him about the money and everything. She hasn't spoken to SO in months.
She used to be very close to us and then suddenly she stopped talking to us and has been just hateful.
SO asked her last night why she stopped talking to us. She gave him 3 different reasons. First was that she said SO lied to her about how much fixing her car would be (he's a mechanic) and he screwed her over. (He didn't.)
And then she said she has just been too busy with her new "family" she met a couple months ago.
Then finallys he said the reason is because of me. She said that I call her all the time crying and complaining about how mean and awful SO is to me and how controlling he is. She said I call all the time.
No. No. No. I have never told her SO was mean or controlling.
His sister used to confide in me when she was having relationship issues, so I told her twice when SO and I were arguing. I just told her I was worried about the argument and asked for advice to make it better. I never said what she told SO. Never.

I am so pissed. Thankfully SO doesn't believe her.
I think it's also crappy of her to start drama on the day their dad died. All she came for was to say she wanted her money.
She said she wants everything settled within the next few days because she doesn't have time in her schedule to deal with it. Wtf!

Its sad how the death of someone brings out the selfish-ness in people. I know that's how my brother in law will be if something happens to my husband's dad.

Thank you. SO did tell me before his dad died that when it happened, his sister would be trouble.

Yeah. I'm pretty much done with her. I've been nothing but nice to her and she turns around and tries to put a wedge between me and SO. She actually told him that he better be careful of me and really consider if he really wants to marry someone like me.

They don't know what to think. She has withdrew from everyone pretty much. She even passed up Christmas and thanksgiving this year.

thats disgusting to be so concerned about an inheritance the same day your dad passes away. Thats SOOO greedy and wrong on so many levels. I assume that he hasnt been laid to rest yet and she's already over there wanting her share?? I am sorry for your's and your SO's loss and I would definitely keep my distance from her.

I can never understand people that money means more to them than family or love. Sounds like the sooner she's back out of your lives , the better.
