zoloft for ppd

posted 3rd Jan
I was just diagnosed with post pardum depression and they perscribed me zoloft for it. Has anyone else taken this? is there any severe side effects? and did it actually help. I am just really hoping it works.

I took it during my last preg and after and I never had an issue. I took the lowest dose possible to be safe. It helped me not have so many breakdowns. It wasn't the firewall but it helped me cope better.

i didn't take for ppd, but for anxiety issues a couple years back.. and well, no side effects bothered me really, my dreams were more vivid though... but my husband thought he was being genius and decided that "if people can't deal with crap on their own thats their problem, shouldn't take meds for it" yea he was just being an ass.... well he threw my pills away just after i had it refilled so it was to soon to fill again... the withdrawal symptoms are a pain! i kept have tingling feelings go across my face and head/scalp.. almost like tiny electric zaps going across my face/head, was the craziest feeling ever.. i thought i was going completely insane!! til i looked up online people having withdrawals

I was prescribed it for PPD and all it did was make me feel crappy and lethargic. I stopped taking it after a couple of weeks. But everyone is different. I would personally look into more homeopathic methods.

I took it after I had my last two daughters. Never had any bad side effects the last time. But this time, I'm on 50mg and I feel like it's just not working - it's working in a more calm/relaxed aspect, but as far as sleeping - I'm wide awake for 4-6 hours in the middle of the night when I should be sleeping....   I really need to get back to the doctors to have it leveled out to my medium.

I was on Zoloft during my pregnancy and after and I had no problems with it and I breast fed. It helped some but not a lot for me. I was on Cymbalta when I found out I was pregnant and they made me switch because I guess Cymbalta isn't safe during pregnancy or breast feeding. I am not taking anything now because I had went off the Zoloft for a couple of months because of insurance problems and when I tried to go back on it it made me super sick so I am going to suffer through it until my little one is done nursing and then go back to the Cymbalta.

I took cymbalta when Bfing. It's safe my dr said it just risks drying your milk up. But dd was 2.5 so it wasn't a big deal if it dried it up. she did stop not too long after.

I took it during my pregnancy and I'm still on it. I will be on it probably for the rest of my life. I'm on 100mg. and I haven't had any side effects. and I have stopped cold turkey several times and never had any withdraws.
