Those with other children

When you were pregnant, did you think of a name and just get an ah-ha! moment where you just KNEW it was THE name?
Cuz I had one of those moments a few minutes ago. And hubby is all....meh about it. I'm like

Before DH & I were expecting DD2, we agreed that someday we would name out future child either Gabriel or Gabrielle. I got pregnant & when we found out we were expecting a baby girl, I came across the name Arianna & we both knew that was her name. From 20 weeks on we called her Arianna

No, I never did. It took a couple weeks after my second was born. lol
But, I have names picked out for future kids now that make me feel that way.

Only with my first but hubby was on board. With my second and this one we don't pick a name until baby arrives. It's not fun for us, it's just a point of contention. We don't have remotely similar tastes in names so it becomes an argument everytime. If we make ourselves a short list but wait until we meet the baby to pick the name for sure it's not as stressful. You've already met the little one so it's easier to picture a name on him/her. Kwim?

Well if our baby is a boy he wants to name him Elijah Andrew. And I dont like it, I dont feel like it flows. I picked out Jonah Allen or Jonah Avery and he thinks Jonah is too close to our son Noahs name and he hates the middle names....! This is so hard cuz I LOVE Jonah. (Our kids have bible names, we have Matthew, Noah and Gabrielle.)

with my first one ... nope, not ever... my husband decided on her name... i tried and tried. and found ones i liked, but nothing that was was sure on, and he didn't like any that i liked... so her name was picked by him Lana Lynn.. Lynn is my middle name too
my youngest we both made a list of names we liked or were interested in.. and strangely enough we both had a few similar names or same ones... and ended up liking the same one kind of..
i had Emerie (my mom's name she went by was Marie and i thought it was similar enough yet different IMO.. i lost her back in 200
he had it as Emrie, we went with his spelling and pronunciation vs. how i had it. and some how had the same exact for middle name... she is Emrie Rayne.
sometimes its a little on both sides, its hard to decide what a person is going to be called for their life. even now though i have a hard time seeing Emrie as an adult name.. but we agreed it was what we liked, and i can't stand popular names! my name is Christina and his is James.... eh yea...

What beautiful names!! I'd keep searching until you find one you both love. DH was also sure I was going to let him name our child Maximus if it were a boy too (yeah right lol)

Lol. He named our daughter and one of our sons, I let my mom name our youngest son, so i'm trying to get a little more pull in naming this one, since its our last baby.

Yes, my s&m I just KNEW his name the second I said it out loud.. This ones name kinda sat in the back of my head until I realized I don't like anything nearly as much

I had a few names picked out that I liked, but the actual decision came down when I saw them for the first time. What they looked like. lol

We never had an ah hah moment lol we fussed and fussed over names(except for girls, and we had boys)
Basically, he chose our seconds first name and I chose the middle. We both decided with our first. If there is a third... I'm choosing.lol

I had both of my kids' names picked out before they were even conceived. I wanted ONE child. That's it! No more! I'm going to spoil the hell out of my child and he shall have NO siblings! (It WAS going to be a boy, you see. ) And then I got pregnant with him AND found out it was going to be a boy and of course I was over the moon! His father didn't even care enough to argue names with me. So he is Rayne Michael. I looooove unique-ish hippie style names with classic middle names so that if they don't like mommy's crazy name choice, they can go by a somewhat normal middle name.
A few years later, I was actually helping my friend pick out names for his daughter to bring back to his ex/going back to current/baby mama thingy-it. And I found Autumn Nicole. It was my AHA! moment and I wasn't even pregnant and wasn't going to be for another two-three years. And again, I was SURE it was going to be a girl before she was even conceived. And AGAIN her father didn't even care enough to argue names with me. (Different father)
So both of my AHA! moments were YEARS before my kids were ever conceived.
My SO now and I argue over baby names all the time. He's stuck on Murphy Tobias. But maybe it's a sign that he actually does care enough about his future children and would stick around for them unlike my exes? *shrugs*
OH and I have a compromise maybe on your name? What about Jonah Elijah? You know he likes Elijah. Or even Jonah Andrew because he liked Andrew?

I had that moment a million times with both kids and ended up hating most of them 2 days later. I could have never picked a name 9 months in advance and stuck with it. I still want to change my kids names some days.

DD was supposed to be Carmen Renee. Then, a friend was playing God of War and I was like *ding* Athena is perfect. She's a strong, wise, and respectable goddess.
With this one, DH and I had smurfing crazy lists of names. And at first I hated the name we ended up choosing. It came back around and now I love it. DD wants to name him Delicious Hotdog. Lol
