Heavy bleeding after sex

I'm really worried and don't know where else to post this, this post probably has TMI and sorry about that but I've been having super light spotting the past month. Like maybe a quarter size spot a day. But the few times I've had sex this past month the spotting got worse right after sex and would start flowing a little and then within a few hours go back to nothing just a spot here and there. Well yesterday it got so heavy I had to take a shower immediately and was the most blood I have ever seen come out, no clots but very dark red and no cramps or pain and after I got out of the shower it slowed down and went back to nothing again. I'm really worried that something's wrong. Nothing about this seems right and I just wanted to get some insight before I ask my mom to schedule me an OBGYN appointment. We're not close and I don't really talk to her about this stuff so I just wanted some opinions on what could be happening and what I should do before I talked to her. Thanks in advance.

I'm not pregnant, sorry for the confusion. I'm 17, would I be able to call my OBGYN and ask them what I should do before going in?

Possibly this. That happened to me when one of my ex's cheated and gave me chlamydia :/ Worst thing is I never suspected a STD because as far as we knew we were in a monogamous h serious relationship so I ignored it until it developed into a horrible case of pelvic inflammatory disease.

Bleeding for a month straight isn't normal and neither is bleeding like that after sex. you could have an infection or something. If you want to talk to your mom about the fact that you're having sex and all that just tell her that you've been having irregular periods and would like to see your doctor to talk about how you can regulate them. Are you on birthcontrol or using condoms?
