Safe alternatives?

I've suffered with insomnia my entire life. My doc has me on seroquel to help me sleep, but my pharmacist told me to stop taking it now that i'm pregnant. Which means I haven't slept in 3 days. Talk about cranky.

Is there a sleep aid that safe to take while pregnant? Im not sure anything OTC would be strong enough, but i'm willing to try anything as long as it doesnt hurt the baby.

Melatonin or chammomile tea but you would have to research if they are safe or not bc I'm not sure.

Don't take melatonin, I'm looking it up and it doesn't seem safe.

I don't think chammomile is either   sorry but looks like when you are not pregnant or breastfeeding.


Hmm try warm milk or a hot bath. Go for a walk. Meditation. A massage.hotcocoa

Try getting that pregnancy pillow. Are you comfy when laying down? Maybe you need to place your pillows else wear. Drink some warm milk, maybe do a small task then try to go to sleep again. Oh and maybe try a warm bath.

Im completely comfortable, just 20 years of insomnia kicking my ass. Hard when you take 200 mg in a pill every day for years to fall asleep and suddenly have to stop. It has me all out of whack.

Sorry mama. Most sites show it's not safe to take during pregnancy but call your doctor, maybe he/she can do something.

I was taking Sominex with my other pregnancies but i've grown immune to it, can no longer take a safe amount and it be effective.

My first prenatal appt is Monday- so hopefully they can do something. Wouldn't be so bad if I didnt have a 16 month old. My other kids are in school but my DD doesnt take naps anymore so if I dont sleep at night im just screwed for the day.
