re: Who should hold/feed the baby first?

Quoting Ꭶwan♥Nemö:" Nope. Youre first. After all that work you just did? You get to reap the reward and the fruits of your labor...literally. "

This, after all the pain going through labour and pushing the baby out I think the mother should get to hold bubs first.

When weaning me off, they worked me down from once a day to once a week. After trying to take me off it, I started passing out again, so I have to take it at least once a week. They never tried giving me anything else though, so I most definitely am going to look into Paxil if I can nurse with it! Thank you soooo much!!!

I definitely want him cutting the cord. We had already agreed to that one. I couldn't see anyone else other than daddy doing that <3

Quoting Leigh Reep:" I've heard that bonding is crucial in the first moments after birth for baby and mother. My plan was ... [snip!] ... I even agreed to letting him have all the rest if I can just hold her and feed her first. Am I being selfish and irrational?"
The Mother Always...

And I will even have my daughter before the doctor as I will be "catching" her assuming everything goes as plan. My husband would never dream of thinking hes 1st. He knows he comes after me in bonding.

You are not being selfish and I would stick to your guns because if you feel like this you will regret it later and it may cause resentment. My husband will have to pry my daughter out of my dying hands lol!! I would def advise that you give bf a go if you can if it doesn't work out then at least you had a go, but you won't need to feed immediately anyway.

I wouldn't let my other half have first hold and he would never dream of making me. I have always bf for a few weeks with my other two so unless he starts lactating he's out of luck there too lol!!

Don't let him bully you it's a very overwhelming emotional time and you have done all the hard work. There is plenty of time for him to bond when you're sleeping afterwards. Good luck xx
