Co-sleepers, hospital stay and baby #2

To any of you co-sleeping mamas..... what did you do when you had baby #2?
At this point in time I am STILL point person with my 4 year old daughter. She sleeps with us and prefers me especially at bedtime. We don't have anyone else who really deals with day to day stuff like baths etc with her....

I'm just wondering how she's going to deal with me being gone for at least 2 whole days in the hospital in a few months when I have baby #2....

Both girls cosleep, when I had #2 my oldest did fine for the night and next day with my parents and I really didn't expect her to.

This is probably a good age to move her to her own bed, even if that's still in the same room. Start ASAP so that she can get used to it. Have discussions about what she should expect... Whoever will be staying with her should be open to bed sharing to make it easier for her to be away from you.

She co-slept with my mom who was visiting. She did alright but was for sure stressed while I was at the hospital.

Well Jordyn stay with my parents while I was in the hospital, perhaps rick will.have to stay home with her if she struggles? At home Jordyns snuggled daddy and I kept pillows propping me and Sally. Now Jordyns is in her own bed next to mommy. And Sally will have to transition to smuggling daddy which she is a mommy girl. Sally has not spent a night away so either Daniel will stay home with the girls and come during visiting hours, maybe my mom will stay with me at the hospital, or Sally and Jordyn will stay with my parents or in laws and they will be brought to mommy early. We shall see. May have hub rent a room close to hospital for him and girls because we live an hr or more away from it. Cross that bridge when we get there. Hopefully ill get out early, being a csection mom. Jordyns I stayed 3 days after delivery but Sally I left on.the second day cuz I wanted to be home.

I also do still co-sleep with both of them

ahh if only we had grandparents that would be able to help!

i'm thinking of asking my best friend, her godmother, to stay and co-sleep with her.

i'm debating how much i'm going to want her in the hospital. i know we are going to have a big recovery room with an attached sitting room but my husband is a huge germophobe and won't want her in there.

i feel that it is important for her to be a part of it in some way though. i want her there right after the baby is born. if it was up to me i'd have her hang out before the baby is born.......the only thing i'm worried about is her being scared of all the hospital stuff...... on me...

M was there during my entire labor, she only had to go home @ the end because it was late. She wasn't afraid at all.
