Stressed

posted 3rd Jan
Well my month old son has decided to stay up for the last 6 hours. He is so tired but wont sleep. He is constantly crying/screaming. Im starting to lose it. I hate feeling this way. Wish I could walk away but we are at my mils tonight and everyone is sleeping.

I'm glad that worked, but please note that you two will need to learn how to handle these situations with a lot more patience because it's going to happen again and you wont always be able to solve it with a movie.

Have you tried car rides? I would drive around the block with my son for a couple of minutes, and he zonked right out. We'd just leave him in his infant seat.

You really need to look up Dr Harvey Karp & the 5 S's...they really do work. Unless a child is not feeling well & then sometimes nothing works but you just walk, hold, bounce, shhhh & repeat until you wear them down.

It usually isnt this bad but he had his first appt today and the doctor told us not to feed him more than 3 oz but he always eats 4 so he was still looking for his bottle. I tried his paci to satisfy him but it wasnt cutting it lol.

I have been fine with him even by myself at other times like this.

I have never heard of a doctor telling someone not to feed their baby as much as their baby wanted.....

She told us that he gained 2 pounds already and there shouldnt be any reason for that. She wanted us to only feed him 2 but I was like umm not happening.

If Dr is worried over spitting up or something, try offering smaller amounts more often - so 2 oz every 2 hrs versus 4 every 4. Otherwise, I just feed my babies as they want to eat - always & have never tried to limit it.

babies eat because they're hungry and they're supposed to gain weight. I would consider getting a new pedi.

My 1st gained on average 1 lb per week until he was about 8 weeks old. He was only a little over 6 at birth. I was breastfeeding. First she said he ate too often so I must have low supply & i shoudl supplement (I didn't, I just fed on demand) then she said he ate too much & he was gaining too fast & I should schedule him every 4 hrs (I didn't, I just fed on demand) and by the time he was a year he was AVERAGE. he was fat early on - I say GOOD. When she gave me a hard time early on I asked her if she was going to come over & hold him while he screamed from hour 2 until hour 4 when she said it was "okay" to feed him"? She didn't offer so I just kept on keeping on.

He has is occasional spit up like any baby and sometimes he vomits but nothing serious. Most if his vomit is when we cant get him to burp which is rarely. He is a pretty good burber.

I could try less more often but he sleeps 4-5 hours usually twice a day and dont really wanna wake him up.
