Blacking Out?

posted 2nd Jan
I'm currently 21 weeks 1 day pregnant.
I was standing in line at the store with my fiance today when suddenly I started feeling short of breath, clamby, sick to my stomach, and my vision started going dark. I knew if I didn't sit down I was going to pass out right there.
Thankfully my fiance rushed me over to the Starbucks inside the store so I could sit on one of the benches there. I felt better after a few minutes of sitting.
My blood sugar was fine, didn't even have morning sickness today so I ate pretty good.
Not sure why this happened, or how concerned I should be about it. I mean, should I call my OB's office tomorrow? or can it wait until my anatomy scan on Monday.
Something similar happened to me a few times when I was around 16 years old, but it hasn't happened since then until today. Not even during my last pregnancy.
Any advice from someone who's been through this or has experience in the medical field would be great.

Call your on immediately. My sister had this happen and it was an undiagnosed heart condition. Even if you weren't pregnant my doctor would advise me to go to the Er

Probably a blood pressure drop. It's normal. I had this happens as well and my dr said it happens a lot at the grocery store while waiting in line. What happens is yor body can't pump blood as fast because its working to supply the baby. You just have to sit or lay down. My dr suggested I sit for a min about every 15 mins.

That happened to me all the time when I was pregnant. I had really low blood pressure throughout my second trimester. Like other ladies have mentioned, you should have your blood pressure checked.

I don't think so. I had been drinking a bottle of water when it started. but then again maybe, because being thursty is what caused me to drink the water in the first place.
but I have been hospitalized for that during this pregnancy once already at 17 weeks and didn't have that symptom. The HG I was having has pretty much passed so I've been doing a lot better with water and food intake.

I've had that once or twice this pg (and a few times with my 1st). Mine was usually dehydration or low iron.

I'd mention it at your appt (I am at mine next week)

This scares me because I had pre-E in both of my pregnancies that went beyond 20 weeks.
The first one around 22 weeks, and that ended badly.
With my now two year old it didn't start until 35 weeks so Idk.

Should I page my OB? or call L&D to see what they think?
I don't have a history of heart problems, but due have one of Pre-E.

but even people without pre e can have drops in blood pressure after a shopping trip. so i would try not to worry. i know that does not help lol. but i didnt have pre e and pregnancy made me get a black out feeling quite often if i exerted energy or did walking through a store like shopping.

I really hope that's all it is.
but considering I have a history of Pre-E I'm a little concerned.

do you have a bp monitor at home? if not i would invest in one. they are about 20 bucks. and it will help you to know when you need to slow down and take a breather.
