tiny tiny babies at 9 months?????
posted 2nd Jan
I took my twins to the pediatrician's office for a 9 month check up. Eli is 15 lbs 8 oz and 28 inches. Ella is 14 lbs 12 oz and 27 inches. The dr told me that they have fallen off of the charts in weight and are barley hanging on for height. Any suggestion for getting them to gain weight? They each have 6 teeth and eat baby food and some soft table foods.

My daughter was 27 inches at 9 months and 29 inches at 12 months. Some kids are just small.

My daughter is 28 inches almost 10 months and that put her in the 47th percentile today for height. She also weighs 2 oz. more than your son and I was told that made her 45 th percentile. I don't understand if I was told this is normal if you we're told it's falling off the charts?

Feed them formula and skip the food. Food is not going to help them, and it is unnecessary until after a year. Ask your doc for a script for high cal formula.
What did your doctor say? Some people do just have small babies.

maybe try more formula and only foods high in fats. like avocados, and cheese. there are lists of high fat foods available.

All babies follow their chart. Your baby weighed less than mine at 9 months but my daughter was only in the 25th percentile for height and weight.

I've heard twins are normally on the smaller side. But how many oz of formula/breast milk do they drink per day?

my daughter was born at 36 weeks exactly. She was 5lbs 12oz. She has always measured in the small side and her doctor kept telling me the same thing. She just turned 4 and again her doctor said she was very thin. My daughter eats 3 meals a day and two snacks. I know my daughter is getting the nutrition she needs. If u know they are getting the nutrition they need i wouldn't worry about it.

f you are breast feeding what is your calorie intake? i honestly dont know if this makes a difference but it may.

Weird. Does it go off of how big they were at birth or something? I was told she was 5th percentile at birth. So would that make everything different now?

my dd was 15 pounds at 9 months.. i dont remember the ounces but once she turned one she only wieghed 18.5 pounds or so then. she just shot up in weight. now shes 5 and is 44 pounds, so just perfect. they will catch up i wouldnt worry too much. as long as they are eating enough.

They were born at 36 wks 1 day and Eli was 6 lbs 2 oz and 19.25 in and Ella was 5 lbs 7 oz and 18.5 in. They are both lactose intollerant so they are on Similac Sensitive. It is milk based but lactose free. The food is more for fun. Formula is their main diet they drink 6 oz 6-7 times a day.
