Moving to Ohio! Scared smurfless!

I was born and raised in NC, my husband was recently accepted to Ohio State University so we should be leaving in a month ish... I'm leaving my family and all the friends that I've grown up with. Great that we can go to school there, I can attend comm. coll. and our son can start Kindergarten but I'm so scared! How will I manage?! or survive without a breakdown?? haha Him just mentioning me applying for financial aid there sent me into tears. Also my 30th birthday is next month and we will be gone by then. Every year I have a big group of friends get together and it's a blast so for my big 30 I wont have anyone to play with. I'm being selfish I know!

I'm moving to TX in like 3 weeks. I'm freaking out myself.

It's hard.. I moved a year ago.
You adjust though and things become familiar..
Don't loose touch with people, talk often.. keep yourself busy etc.
It really does help.

Same here. I'm moving to Hawaii in about two weeks and I'm getting very nervous.

Well not so much Columbus, just Pickerington really. Not sure if you're familiar with Pickerington but it just feels like I don't belong here. Maybe I just miss South Florida. What part of Columbus are you from?

Pickerington and columbus as a whole are really different IMO. Why are you there? I live 40 or so minutes south of columbus now, but go to school there

Yeah, they really are. Well I was born in Cleveland but raised in South Florida then about 3 years ago we moved to Reynoldsburg for a couple months and now ended up in Pickerington, lol. If it wasn't for wanting to be there for my mom and two siblings, I would have moved outside of Ohio by now. On the bright side, I will be starting school here after I have my son!

Well my cousin graduated from OSU last year and he had nothing but nice reviews on it, as for everyone else I know who went there or is going there at the moment. So I'm highly considering either OSU or this school over in Lancaster.


Thoughts?

I would go to OSU. It's high tuition and hard, but likely more worth it than Lancaster. What school is in Lancaster? OU?

Thank you, glad someone lives there! I feel like I'm going to a deserted island or something. We went to visit one winter and it's nice. We are looking at student housing near campus because of the cost. I'm not sure the community colleges there but was hoping to attend one also. So much to look into, my school, my sons school, apply for medicaid and maybe food stamps... and I am directionally challanged so I'll be driving all around Columbus probably
