Nope not implying anything. Just thought I'd answer your comment, a lot of the nuts and grains used today for protein substitutes just weren't around back 4000 years ago. That's all I was saying.

I understand that people want to live paleo lifestyles for the health benefits, but some of them annoy me. I remember a girl on here saying that she was on a true paleo diet, but then was talking about pan frying in olive oil. No ... that just ... no.

Oysters are also an idea, but they are next to no calories at all, so they're not awesome for anything other than just being tasty and fun to eat...

Yea I've looked into it and its not a diet for a permanent lifestyle. Its their to rid the body of toxins and disease. I would be all for it if I was sick though. Its really amazing. When you haveva chance you tube the beautiful truth and the gerson miracle or watch it on netflix

Yeah he was a hurting kid before the diet change.

DH and I see each other a few days a month so I am a busy lady with work and kids. I found that prepping ahead is key. I do as much on my days off as I can for the week .

..uh.. my comment is being misunderstood all over the place. As in the fact that I said we do high protein a lot, or what?

As I said, SO and I eat a lot of raw meat and fish, because we enjoy it, I had ideas to share - so I asked the OP if she's doing any raw fish or meat.

We're not on any kind of diet except we buy as much grassfed and organic as we can manage, we generally stay away from starches and mostly do gluten free because DH has a gluten allergy.

Our 'diet' is the way it is because we prefer it, I don't think it can be classified as anything except that it's definitely high protein, as in, from fish or meat, because again, we like that stuff, so does our kid.. oh and well, I sneak a cracker here and then, our daughter eats cereal, but mostly we're gluten free..

I don't understand why you think I'm attacking you. All I did was answer with what other ways to find protein other than traditional meats are.

But I haven't bought it yet. I use a potato peeler. You just eat it raw. You can put cooked sauce on it or do a raw sauce from tomatoes, garlic, onion, sun dried tomatoes, olive oil and something else. Then put it in the food processor

I don't think you're attacking me, I was asking you why you thought I implied that there are no other ways to obtain protein other than from meats, dairy and fish. Or are you just putting general information out there?

You brought up the girl who said she was living a certain lifestyle and she was not, and I asked you if you had misunderstood my reference to high-protein, because maybe it came across as hard-core high-protein, when really it's just a preference.

This was the tuna tartare recipe recipe

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/tuna-tartare-recipe/index.html

It was epic in terms of deliciousness! If you're not giving up fish, I toootally recommend looking into this, as well as some ceviche

If you're not against the idea of eating thinly sliced raw beef, I've got ideas for that too

Yum. You can post it. I will be in a transition phase and until I find animosity acid alternatives I will need occasional meat.

I'm still deciding the path I will take so I'm reviewing all options right now

Thanks for your recipes

You can adjust it to your taste, the recipe is more like a guideline

Good luck on the lifestyle change! Do share some awesome recipes   DH is always making fun of my 'plain old' salads and appetizers, I'd love to put forth something different but I usually suck at looking up ideas unless someone flat out hands me one

He just got another promotion eventually we'll see each other lol If we get 2 weekends together a month we are happy.
