A new year, a new me (hopefully)

My new years resolution is to lose weight. I know usually people give up on their resolutions, but I think now is a really good time for me to actually follow through with losing, things are going so good right now and I think my emotional eating might be able to be controlled since things aren't so stressful now.

Here's my thought, I need to lose 80lbs total. So I figure that if I make a goal of 13lbs a month I could be at my goal fairly quick. I know that I wont always make that goal and I know thats a lot to lose in a short period of time but I figure if I set my goal high it might make me try harder to make it. Mostly I need to exercise, a lot! LOL I will reduce my calorie intake, but I'm not one that can stand to go hungry lol which I know isn't good anyways, but I usually feel hungry constantly, so I have to exercise more to counteract the excess food intake and as of all of last year I didn't exercise, pretty much at all. I would start to everyday and then give up. I can't do that this time, I HAVE to do this.

At this point any weight loss is going to be great. I can't fit into anything anymore and I am quickly running out of clothes. I refuse to go shopping because it makes me depressed about my weight and I feel like I look horrible.

So I guess the point of this post is I need tips, things that worked for you etc. even low fat recipes.

have you looked into juicing? raw foods ect?

I have seriously considered juicing, I bought a juicer and hated the damn thing it made a mess, so I sold it lol. But My dad has one that I can borrow (if he lets me   lol)

I will be starting insanity next week with my sister in law. I need to lose weight and I have to be serious about it too. My SO and I are just going to try and stop buying junk food and buying a lot of fruit and veggies to snack on.

Focus on eating lean, clean and green. Check out Tone it Up-it is a nutrition plan that focuses on clean eating. I love it and made it a goal to stick with it this year.

I would try it..at least a week or two, I have trouble because A) I am 39 weeks pregnant and B) I am allergic to most fruits/veggies but my husband is on day 3 and has dropped 6 lbs...he is not heavy to begin with. But a cleaner diet after that is easier, really we cut out a lot of things this past year, and we do sometimes have pizza or a hamburger once a month...but once you give it up, it just does not look at good, you dont crave it.so that helps.

I stopped buying junk food a while ago, it hasn't made a difference

That's why I wanted to juice, I wanted to do a week or so of just juice and do a cleanse type thing with it, then after that just eat healthier. Year before last before I got pregnant I was actually doing good with not eating hardly any fast food, junk food etc. I was eating salads or veggies all the time and I was losing. My main thing I think is I need to exercise but I hurt everyday without exercising so its sooo hard when I do because my body feels like i'm 90 years old. I think though if I can work through it and lose weight I would feel better on a daily basis.

I haven't drank soda in over a month and it didn't make a difference. I am still going to not drink soda, but it is time to get rid of the junk too.

I have 4 more 24oz sodas in my fridge and hopefully I can not buy any more after those are gone. I tend to need the caffeine though so I hope I can make it without it.

Good luck I started my diet yesterday I also need to lose 80lbs I just plan on watching what I eat and exercising more I lost 26lbs already doing that

I think that would be harder. I think it was easy for me to give up soda because I don't need the caffiene.

Thanks! I am starting to write down what I eat and calories per day, last time I was actually getting somewhere by doing that so hopefully it will help this time too.

Yeah it sucks I wish I didn't need it, or at least if I liked coffee I could drink black coffee to get it but coffee makes me gag unless it has a lot of other stuff in it and by then I might as well drink the soda lol
