I'm so upset! My dog had puppies 8 weeks ago. I had a favorite since they were born. SO said we could keep her. My son named her and i got attached to her. Now he is saying we cant keep her. I'm about to cry. Someone is coming to pick her up tomorrow. I seriously think im going to start bawling when she leaves. Pointless post im just really upset.

  Thats messed up. He told you and your LO you could keep her, so I would tell him to shove it lol.

I really don't understand why he would do this. He's been telling me for 8 weeks we could keep her. He has been the one letting her sleep in our bed with us and now hes saying no.   I feel like im going to puke. I love that dog, she loves my kids. Everytime im on the couch she jumps up on it until i pick her up. When i pick her up she cuddles up to me and goes to sleep.

No. He's in a bad mood because my sons tablet just fell on the floor and the screen cracked. Which was SOs fault not LOs. I asked him if we could keep her he said NO and i said seriously? or are you just saying that because your mad and he said we can not keep another dog! Shes so well behaved and i love her. I'm so upset.

Did he just start saying it today...maybe if hes just mad, maybe he will change his mind once he cools. off. I dont think its right to do that to the kid/kids. Absolutely heartbreaking.

Well, here's my 2 cents.. In my house my DH is not almighty. And i'll be damned if i'm getting rid of anything just because he said so. He can certainly tell me how he feels about the situation and we discuss it as equals and as adults, but I would never let him tell me I HAD to do something. ESPECIALLY after he has already said for so long that you could keep the dog. I'd tell him that until he can come up with a mature justified reason for going back on his word that the dog is staying, and I'd also let him know that you dont take orders from him.Your opinions and feelings are JUST AS IMPORTANT AS HIS.

  And not only this, but your LOs are going to be heartbroken too. He said you can keep the dog, so he needs to stand by his word. It isnt right to make promises, especially to his children, and then go back on it for any reason, let alone because he is in a bad mood.

He said we dont have the money for another animal. He said we could afford food but we dont have the money to take her to vet or anything. I understand where he is coming from but im still upset.

Well then I am assuming your financial situation was the same 8 weeks ago? If he knew youc couldnt afford it, then why tell you that you could keep the dog in the first place? I'd still be pissed off at him either way. Sorry your going through all this.

I'm still upset and i wish he would have said something when i first started saying i wanted her. Our finacial situation has changed a little but not a lot. The person that is getting her has a huge yard, another dog, and 2 kids. I know she will be loved but i want to be the one that loves her.

I think im really just going to keep her. One of my friends has her kennels license and does shots and everything for cheap. He might be a little mad but will have to get over it.
