What kind of apartment do you have? And this was actually the cheapest! The $690 includes water. It's a 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath, 1000 sq. feet.

Its a house out in a little town.

Sorry, I assumed apartment because of rent   I forgot people can rent homes and not own   Sounds nice!

They never buy gas, he has a company car and a company gas card. The $100 is just for spending money.

Yeah all of our bills get paid the day we get paid, period. Everything else is split up between food, gas, personal money, kid stuff and savings.

I think the cost of living must be incredibly different between Australia and America. My daycare cost is over 200 a week alone. And that's only for 4 days.

We don't use daycare so I don't know what ours costs but I've been told that if I want to work I'd have to have a degree of some kind to make a profit after daycare, increased travel costs, etc.

i'm that way... i always say we are broke unless we have 1000 extra dollars in the bank not including the extra money that i have set back for an emergency. if all the bills are paid and we have a few thousand in emergency money and 900 in extra money i will say we can't afford anything. we are never really behind but we are within a month of not having enough money to pay the bills so i will always worry until we have like 10,000 in extra money

I can't even begin to fathom how amazing it would be to only pay $400 for rent. Like... I really can't wrap my mind around it. Apparently rent for a three bedroom home in a decent area is about $500 in the town I'm from and that's mind-boggling to me!

When I lived in Charleston we paid $1,200 for a tiny two bedroom apartment on James Island and that was even on the lower end of things. We paid $1,600 for our three bedroom town home in Stafford, Virginia and now we're paying $1,100 for a condo here in NC. I've never lived anywhere where rent is $400 a month.

In other words I'm jealous of you guys, lol.
