Normal to shed lining of uterus?

While on birth control? I think i might have done that the other day although i have never experienced it before. Been on new birth control for 3 weeks and called my ob's PA today and she didn't say i needed to come in but put me on a diff kind today.. I have been experiencing bleeding for a week now and my period isnt due for another week or so and don't know if i could possibly be pregnant or not. Should i test before i take the new birth control or what

You still have a period with birth control which means: you shed the lining of your uterus. Birth control is supposed to stop you from producing eggs, I.E. ovulation.

And it's likely break through bleeding from being on a new pill. No big deal. However, if you want to test to make sure, go ahead.

Is the birth control you're on supposed to stop your period? If not, that's definitely normal. As the girl before me mentioned, birth control is meant stop ovulation and some bcs don't even do that. It really just depends on which bc you're on.

I a pretty sure it's normal to shed the lining of your uterus but isn't that what we period does

I was informed of this today by my PA but i have never had this happen to me, when it came out it looked like a big chunk of meat. And she told me today its not normal to be bleeding in the middle of my pack of pills and my period isnt due for another week so...

I'm no doctort but I doubt your pregnant if a big chunk or clot came out. I had this happen to when I was on depo it was bc my uterus was to thin

Ok i wasn't sure what to think when it happened b/c its never happened to me before. She put me on provera pill today. I just hope i'm not pregnant.

not long. I'd give it awhile to regulate your period. But I'm no doctor...lol

She told me on the phone today its not normal to be bleeding in the middle of the pack of pills. But i have never experienced shedding of my uterus like i did a few days ago.

The hormone might be too low for you. Or your body is adjusting to the new birth control. You can have break through bleeding for the first three months. Or you need to be put on a higher hormone BCP

Go to the dr. then if you're really concerned about it.

I figured she would have scheduled me in but she didn't. I was just wondering if its normal to shed the lining of ur uterus in chunks b/c i had never done that before.

Yes I am on BC and I shed the lining every month. You just had your cycle early that is all.
