Hospital bags for myself, SO, and baby..*help*

posted 2nd Jan
I've looked at a million lists online that have so many things I know we wouldn't even use. So what did you bring?
So far I only have baby's bag packed:
1 Newborn going home outfit w/socks and hat
1 gown
1 newborn footed sleeper
5 diapers (just in case)
small pack of wipes
2 pacis (should I even bring if I plan to breastfeed?)
3 pair of mittens
2 pair socks
2 hats
1 big blanket for ride home
1 receiving blanket
3 burp cloths

I haven't even started mine or SOs bag yet.

Personally I think you have to much stuff for the baby. If your hospital provides everything all you really need is
1-2 going home outfits (newborn and a 0-3 month size)
mittens
Blanket for ride home
Nail file/clippers
Baby Book for foot prints

The hospital has (or at least both mine did)
clothes for them which is usually just a shirt since they get checked so much
diapers
wipes
receiving blankets
hats
pretty much everything you could need and you get to take it home with you too.

For you:
Going home outfit
Nursing Bra and pads
Boppy (if you want it)
Your own pillow (always a must for me)
Pj's (nightgown usually is easiest or just wear the hospital crap and bleed all over that)
Shampoo/Conditioner
Toothbrush/paste mouthwash floss
Hairbush and hair ties
deoderant
chapstick
warm socks
camera and charger or batteries
laptop and charger
cell phone and charger

For you SO (if you have one staying with you)
Change of clothes
PJ's
bathroom stuff
money for vending machines.

Extra going home outfit is always a plus. My daughter decided to puke right before we left >.>
For myself I packed a lot and really only needed the clothes to wear home and a brush, charger for my phone. Pjs for being there that gown got drafty. Oh and a comfy pillow I loved they give you more if you want them but I needed my own pillow. Other then that I didn't use anything else they give you quite a bit. I ended up leaving with like 4 bags of baby stuff (diapers, wipes etc) and A bunch of personal care items for myself.

My best friend took so much stuff and didn't use it. I packed 2 sleepers, the baby book, I'm not taking any extra clothes for myself, pjs for so, baby's first Teddy, blankets for the ride home, her snowsuit, and I put the bag inside the car seat so all we have to do is grab the car seat and go

I have a question though.... what the heck is a boppy??
