Should I tell her?

(Sorry if this is in the wrong forum)
Alright, I have a 4 year old and she asked about my scars on my legs, (self-harming scars from when I was a teenager), She said ''Mummy whats them?'' and I said ''Whats What?'' and she said ''Those lines'' and I said that ''They're nothing, dont worry'' and she said ''Okay mummy''
But im wondering if I should tell her or is she too young. It's just shes going to find out sooner or later..
And if your wondering about my self-harming, it was when nearly everybody in my school would bully me and make me feel terrible :/ but now that I got 3 kids and a beautiful fiancé   I dont need to cut  

Maybe just tell her they're cuts you got when you were younger. When she's older you could tell her how you got them. Good for you for stopping though!  

No I would not tell my 4 year old about self mutilation

I would wait until she's older, if I told her at all. A 4 year old doesn't need to know about self-harming.

I would not tell her. Not until she is much older.

Um, no - I definitely would not tell my 4 year old about self mutilation.

I wouldn't tell her. IMO she is still too young to completely understand.

Thanks girls! and yes I just thought, if that was ever to happen to her (hopefully not) she might think it'd be okay for her to do them, after me telling her about myself cutting..

I would simply say 'They were owies but are all better now'

If you feel the need to explain, wait till she is much much older.

I wondered about this myself. I have self mutilation scars all over my arms, legs, thighs, and some on my face.
I don't think I Will tell DD what happened, I don't want her to know.

I will just say I was in a car accident or something.
There are some things our children do not need to know about our past.
