Oh I agree they do. I just like the thought of being able to spend more time with them to teach them more about it.

I think both are fine. Both have their benefits and drawbacks. Sahm spend lots of time with their kids but in hard times don't bring income in and the opposite for working moms but nothing wrong with either as long as the child is getting what they need physically and emotionally..

Thank you for beating me to this, lol.

To the lady you were quoting- when your kids go to school eventually, do you stop teaching them their morals?

I love leaving the child rearing up to my daycare provider. It takes so much off my hands. All I have to do is go to work and come home, watch tv and then go to bed. It's awesome to pay someone else to parent my kids, let me tell ya.

I am more then sure she does use her manners. I wasn't implying that they are not mannered. I was implying that I would rather be the one to teach my children their manners and giving them one on one. (If that makes sense).

I apologize. My original wording came out WAY wrong. And I promise I didn't mean for it to sound that bad.

It's cool. The public school system is raising mine. And doing a right smurffy job, too.

I have some books I should give Jenna's teacher. (An now I need to take my happy ass to legendary to explain that joke to you  )

Well damn, maybe you should get a job, because all that smurf is miraculously done by the elves when I get home for the day.

I parent and teach my children. The sitter makes sure they are enforced when my husband and I are not there. They get plenty of 1 on 1 time with both of us.

I think staying home is the best option IF mom is able to financially, emotionally & mentally, as it's obviously the most control you can have in your child's upbringing, experiences, interactions, etc - so less worry or stress over "what ifs" generally....BUT that doesn't work for everyone for various reasons.

For me, being home means my kids are outside with me nearly all day every day when the weather is good, they get to go to the nature conservancy & the orchard & museums & what-not all the time. I have more time, so we can plant a garden together & do things like leaf collections & bug catching & what-not (we homeschool, so that stuff is just integrated into the homeschool stuff too). I think that is better for them than what a daycare can offer which is often predominantly an indoor situation with many more restriction (due to regulation) and many more kids per caregiver....BUT I worked with my 1st & I think that is fine (my mom watched him). I do think it is better in our situation that I can be here now & we have the opportunity to do those things, but I would think it was okay if we couldn't. You do what you can.
