They are. I know my kids would be way too rough with a great dane, they look so fragile.

This!! So much this!! They're very jealous little things. When DH and I moved in together I brought my wiener dog with and she would constantly growl and try to bite DH when he would sleep in bed with me.
We had her obedience trained so I thought she'd be better with DD. Nope. Now she's an old cranky jealous pain in my butt! lol

That too! Id like to have a big dog so DS wouldn't smoosh it, plus I hate small dogs.

But they're so amazingly loveable. They are like giant teddy bears.

We got a Pitbull for our son. We got her at 9 weeks and he was 3. They are absolute best friends. She is EXCELLENT with him and never even opens her mouth. He jumps all over her and she sits there and takes it. She is very energetic though.

We have a smurf pom mix and she is so great with Ava they play fetch and she cuddles her.   only down fall is she is very very protective

My son (14 months) loves our chiwaua. Tho we have to constantly remind him to be gentle. We also have a French mastiff that he loves to clim all over. He doesn't have to be general with that one. But I would say a jack russel would be really fun and sweet for a two ur old.
