I hope not.

Back pain and cramps are just part of pregnancy.
Unless your cramps are coming at consistent intervals (time-able) and aren't going away with drinking a lot of water, there's nothing to worry about.

If they start coming on stronger and stronger and time-able I'd call your dr.

sounds like normal pregnancy stuff to me... but if the cramps get sronger and closer together i would start timing them.

Basically you don't want more than 4 to 6 per hour. They don't have to be timeable this early to get treated. In fact, by the time they are timeable, it's too late to stop labor anyway. If it were me, I would call the ob and let him know about the back pain and the cramps. He might want to see you and make sure nothing's going on.

Well.. I had horrible horrible back cramps that I dismissed and then I had back labor.
Looking back, I realized all those back cramps that were horrendously painful, were actually BH contractions, just felt different because I had back labor.
So, that could be something to consider. I had BH contractions about 2 weeks before labor but didn't realize that's what they were.
Could be BH contractions?

I think they could be BH contractions.
Heating pad? That helped a little.
But man do they SUCK.

Ok so the advice about waiting until they're timable is horrible horrible advice at 27-28 weeks pregnant. 4 to 6 contractions per hour. Call your dr if that happens. <---- Important.

all my doctors in both of my pregnancies told me not to bother if they weren't timeable.

Your dr gave you bad information. You never wait that long, especially when you haven't hit the 3rd trimester yet. Look on any web site about pre term labor ... march of dimes ... baby center ... any of them and it will say 4 to 6 per hour. I've also dealt with ptl with each of my pregnancies and that was also the guide lines used by my high risk dr's. Your dr gave you bad information and potentially dangerous to you and your babies.

all 10 of them, in two different states and two different pregnancies??
I went into preterm labor this time, I was told not to come in until they were timeable, so they could make sure they were real. They got them stopped just fine.
I think I'll just stick with my doctors information.

1. I think you're exaggerating about how many dr's you've seen. If you *have* seen that many, there's no way you've had any sort of consistent care and it would be very difficult for any of them to treat any sort of chronic issue like PTL. I see an office of high risk dr's when i'm pregnant with one who oversees my entire case. I see my primary perinatologist once every 2 weeks unless there's an issue. If I told her I wasn't going to go in until the contractions were timeable during my 2nd trimester, she would kick my butt.

Even my regular ob back in the day when i wasn't high risk handed out pamphlets about guidelines of when to go in to treat contractions and it certainly wasn't 'wait until they're timeable'.

I called my OB's office and no answer I left messages to get my appointment moved up.... No call backs yet..... Im home by myself with 2 kids and cant find a babysitter..... So I guess I will have to wait it out to see if they get worse

lmao, my doctors office is a big practice. I rotate to a different dr each time I go. There are 5 in the practice. Same with my practice when I lived in Tennessee.
But like I said, I'll stick with what my doctors and midwives tell me, thanks.
