Painting while prego

posted 2nd Jan
Ill prob wear a mask no matter the paint. and room/house will be ventilated.
but i heard somewhere that there is a safer paint to use while preg rather than another kind.

ideas?
hubby is being like really anal this time around and is sooo excited to paint and get the babies room together. lol kinda cute but kinda annoying... not due until 4th of JULY! lol

Use a water based paint rather than oil based and make sure it's very ventilated. I helped paint DD's nursery (she's now almost 2) and I just made sure to take breaks from the room as well if I thought I needed it.

I painted dean's room, I was like 8 months, lol I had no 1 else to do it so I had to, he already had a birth defect, wasnt going to make it worse, lol I just did 1 wall at a time, in a day, then went back and did the border...

I painted two rooms during this pregnancy. I painted the nursery by myself and our master bedroom with DH. Opened the windows all up and put a fan in the window and used water based paint. OB said it was fine as long as it was well ventilated.

As far as I can tell   Our walls were white and the nursery took one coat with a second coat on a few little spots and looks fine   We used water based through out the whole house, actually, even before I was pregnant and it all came out fine and still looks fine, but it's not even been a year since we bought the house yet, so I can't say in 5 years it will still look as good.

I didn't read any of the comments I'm in a rush, but SO and I just painted our room/nursery. And I wore a mask on and on. But most of the time, and just took a lot of breaks, and only did the small thing SO did most of it (Unfortunately lol)
There's something I think water based paint? I think we used just regular paint. But there is safer paints ask when you go in for the color.  !

And be careful SO was due on the 4th of July back in '86' and his birthdays the 26th! lol I guess they didn't induce back then!

Good luck!

Maybe he's ready now! Lol the first time might have been scary or he was in denial! Lol. SO has a son already, and he hasn't been uber over excited kind of hurt my feelings for a while, sometimes still does, but at the same time it's whatever it's my first and I'm head over heels in love with her already! Lol. I was nesting neutral items at 12-13 weeks!
