Torticollis Update - Plagiocephaly

River Lyn finally got her cranial molding helmet! OMG.. We've been trying since she was 6 months to get this for her, and now at 11 months she finally has it. Our patience and determination really paid off. I hope it helps and that it's not too late. She's still very petite and has a lot of growing to do, so I am trying to stay optimistic. Her first day wearing it was rough. She hated it, cried and fussed constantly, and wouldn't even look at me. My heart just sank. But we're on day 3 and she seems to have adjusted well to wearing it.

Thanks to everyone who has been watching her progress along with me. It means a lot and your support is greatly appreciated.

Day 1 - She was so sad and wouldn't smile or even look at me, which was hard on me because she is usually always full of smiles and laughter... I felt so helpless.



Day 3 - She has adjusted well so far and is back to her normal self!

Aw what a sweetie. My son was referred to a plastic surgeon for one of those at 13 months for having a VERY flat head on the back. They decided that the malformation wasn't bad enough to warrant a molding helmet. Glad she adjusted to it so well and so quickly and I hope it helps.

Walmart. It has a mesh pouch on the back that came with a pen and pad of paper but I took those out.

Glad she adjusted so beautifully!! My oldest had surgery for craniosynostosis when he was 7 months old and had a helmet post op...hers is MUCH cooler though!!!

We decorated it with those peel and stick HK stickers... but the heart design is the one we chose to have put on it by the prosthetic folks.

Nice! Alex's was really blah...the choices, were pink with a rainbow chin strap, or navy blue with a rainbow chin strap. That was 7 years ago though lol....I see helmets now and it's like, whoah! They've come a LONG way in a short amount of time lol
