If you have/had mirena and had any side effects, what were they, and how long did it take for them to start?

I personally did not have it but my best friend did. She got very bad mood swings, bad cramping, was extremely depressed until hers fell out.

I do not have Mirena but I read a lot on the internet that irregular bleeding and cramping may last from 3 to 6 months. Other side-effects are mood swings, weight gain, vaginal discharge, headaches, acnes. You are also at risk of pelvic inflammatory disease and uterine perforation.

I have it. I've had it for nearly a year, but the past 2-3 months I've been having a lot of pregnancy like symptoms, but I'm not pregnant. I didn't know if my mirena would be causing it after having it that long, or if it's something else.

I've had the Mirena for a few months. When I began my period it seriously lasted two months but I haven't had one since. I cramped the first month but now I am cramp free and feel fine. I read a lot of scary things about woman not being able to have kids after they got it but when I talked to my Doctor he said nothing had been scientifically proved and it was a safe method of birth control.

I was like that. I had spotting every day for about 2 months, and then I didn't have any for like 8 months, and now for 2 or 3 months I've had periods and random spotting again
