Hate this part!

posted 2nd Jan
This has got to be the longest part of pregnancy! It doesn't help that I have contractions 8 minutes apart, which they told me if they were two minutes closer together, they could do something. I know I still have 18 days til my due date, I don't need anyone to remind me that I'm not full term. I just want to rant about how horrible I feel. Not to mention I fell on the stupid ice Monday, which made my contractions more intense...and made me pee my pants. I just can't wait to be done! I hate being pregnant and would rather be in labor and deliver than be pregnant. Let the fun begin...UGH!

Sorry, I feel somewhat better now.

Those last few weeks are killer. It's just a matter of waiting for something to happen while feeling miserable. Not much longer to go, though! Just think in two to three weeks you'll be looking back going "damn it's already over!"

Lol...maybe. I'm actually scheduled to be induced on the 14th since I have GD, but I really don't want to. My blood sugars have been super crazy though and I would rather him be a week early then continue to be subjected to my crazy body. But...it still sucks lol.

I'm sorry you feel smurffy.

If it makes you feel any better....

I was 8.5 months, it was raining and I was wearing flip flops. I stopped to get gas. I decided to tun inside to get a drink, and as I was heading in, I stepped on an oil spot on the cement, my feet slid out from under me and I feel right on my ass. In front of everyone. Of course people see this big pregnant girl fall, and it draws a crowd. I wanted to hide my face. And yes, it made the contractions stronger.

It's like Baby is saying "Hey Idiot, watch your step!" lol

Hang in, you're almost there!

I know it's hard to accept medical interventions. I'm having a repeat C-Section 4 days before my due date. I'd rather just wait it out, but it's not the best option so...

At least you know there is an absolute end in sight and you don't have to go overdue, heh. I know it's clichè but take this time to pamper yourself one more time before life explodes into a sleep-deprived haze of chaotic motion around you.

I know just how you feel, I'm 39 weeks today. And have thought I was going into labor 4 times over the last week, but I live in snow covered Nebraska and every time I say I want to go walk, everyone freaks out on me. I'm very uncomfortable because I have Crohn's Disease and between this pregnancy and my last one I had surgary and it makes it only worse!!!!!! If your able to walk walk walk I would say walk walk walk, I would if I could! Good luck.

I'm sorry but this made me seriously laugh...I'm glad no one saw me lol. This poor kid was angry the rest of the day and into the next, but I'm still pregnant. I progressed from a soft cervix at a 1 to a very soft cervix and a 2, so I guess this suffering could end soon...and, even though history says it means nothing, I lost my mucus plug last night, was up all night...but, again, still pregnant. Hopefully I sleep tonight and my doctor has a heart and let's me take the last week off befoe I have the baby lol.

I live in Iowa...so everyone tells me to find a treadmill...really? If I didn't find that completely boring, I would use one when I'm not pregnant for exercise lol. I did bounce on my ball for about an hour last night before bed, but that too gets boring. Time for plan b...propositioning the DH for sex tonight lol.

It's ok, it makes me laugh when I think about it too. I had shorts and a tank top on and got covered in mud. I had to go in the gas station and use their sink and a bunch or paper towels to clean myself off. lol

As far as the mucus plug goes - I know history says it doesn't mean anything, but I think it can mean something too - I lost mine at 37weeks, and my water broke the next morning, he was born 8 hours later.

It's a good sign that your cervix is thinning like that. I was dilated to a 1 and 80% effaced for almost a month, the day he was born (I had an OB visit literally an hour before my water broke) I was at a 3 and 100% effaced.

Sounds like you're close!

I hope so! I would love to not be induced a fourth time lol

I bet! I had a medical condition, and at the rate it was going she said she thought it would be OK to leave him in until 39 weeks, as long as I had 3 NST's a week and an ultrasound when needed. But no longer than 39 weeks. So I was all ready to be induced in less than two weeks...actually signed the papers at my OB visit the day he was born. I had been talking to him constantly "Pleeaaase come out on your own Baby! Mommy REALLY doesn't want to be induced." and he DID. lol

They did give me pit at the hospital though, because even though I was dilating my contractions were still irregular. I HATED that stuff. Especially since the epi didn't work.
