Question- Graco MyRide

posted 2nd Jan
So LO has the Graco My Ride that has the head wings. I don't like the head wings because it makes it difficult to strap him in. The instructions on the side of the seat say that the head wings must be used. Is that true for all shoulder-strap-slot heights? He is eight months old and he really doesn't need them as he has normal head control at this point, im just not sure if it's a safety feature that is necessary seeing as some of the other my ride seats don't even have the headwings

Yes. What the heck happens when hes at the stop slot, here won't even be a place for the head rests. Guess this seat was a waste. I'm going to switch back to radians I think.

You don't outgrow the height of the headrest. It moves up every time you adjust the straps. Its not in a fixed position. It just fits weird. It sits low on his shoulders but if I move it up a slot it is too high. I really dont like itm

But is removable too though. I know mine moves up but also comes right off as well.
Its a different seat, but my sil uses the my ride and it just came off. But maybe its a different model, older.

Im going to buy all 3 kids radians. I was confused with this post because I know you got radians for the older 2. Why did you switch?

I had got graco nautilus seats for the kids once they were FF because the radians were getting to be a bit too narrow. They complained of getting pinched a lot. Then I totalled my car so I had to toss the seats and decided to try the nautiluses. I love them. I figured I'd like the my ride just as much, but im not very pleased. I dont like these head wings, they sit too low on the shoulder.

Do you think I shouldnt be getting a radian for Lex? I dont want to spend that kind of money only to have to buy something else as she grows

No seat is safer than the next. They all have to pass the same safety standards. So really, just get the seat that fits her and your vehicle the best. Don't waste money for bells and whistles. Honestly I would just try her out in a few seats in store and she's which one fits her best, which one is easiest to adjust and which one sits in your car most snugly.

How tall are the kids? Lex is 40in so I want one that will fit her height wise...from what I understand the radian fits tall kids well? Is the Nautilus the same?

How long does the nautilus keep them in a 5 pt harness? Thats my main concern with a carseat. I dont want to use a regular seat belt until I absolutely have to
