My dad died when I was 3, my mom was weird about talking to me when I was smaller, when I got older she would tell me stories, what his fav songs were, I wished she would have done that when he 1st died, but shes not really like that she dosnt do well with other peoples emotions,

At that time, I didn't know if his dad would come around, so I talked to him the way I wanted to hear about my dad,

He hasnt seen the child in 2 years... I wouldnt bother him. Smurf him. My ex will go weeks without seeing my son. And I dont remind him that he has a son that he doesnt talk to or see, I dont think its MY job to do it. And I think to force being a parent on someone that doesnt want to be one, is totally wrong.

I totally agree with you!!!

I wouldn't let him. Find a real man who can be a good role modle for your son. Think about it like this 'is that the kind of man you would be proud of your son becoming?' Sons copy the men in their life so think about it like that. My son has his papa to modle after since his father is a no show since he was 6months. I love being a single mom. So less much less drama.

Finding a real man who's a good role model for my son is easier said than done.

Regarding BD, I don't know what his issue is with our son, but he calls his other kids good night every, never missed a child support payment, etc. I just keep on hoping something would click with him and he would just stop being an smurf regarding this. He's a professor at a Christian university, not some irresponsible teenager who decided to run off. I can't understand why he's acting like this, that's why it's bothering me so much.

I know what you mean. My sons "father" raises his older half brother as a single father. He knew what its like to have a parent walk out and be left to raise a child alone but he turned around and did it himself. Well never understand our kids fathers.

Well, I don't want to "force" him. More like talking him into doing the right thing ;) I really do wish I could force him to pay child support though, but there isn't a legal way of doing that. *sigh*
