Freaking out a little..

My son has been taking the antibiotic cephalexin since Saturday. I JUST NOW realized that it has supposed to be refrigerated!! I'm freaking out, what happens if it has not been refrigerated? Should I stop giving it to him? What side effects should I look out for? I can't find anything doing research, so I thought I'd ask you ladies..

It won't be as effective. He will probably have to have a second round of antibiotics.

My mom was a pharmacist a long time and I have done it once to a dog tho (amoxocillin liquid) I was told by bother her and a vet that it was just made it less potent but still usable O_o If You are unsure you could always just call and ask an all night pharmacist. They are always happy to help!

Is that the only affect that not being refrigerated will have on the medicine?

Ok, thank you very much! Should I stick in in the refrigerator in the mean time?

I work in pharmacy right now. With antibiotics that are supposed to be refrigerated, it just makes them taste better. It doesn't really lose potency or strength unless its expired or about to. We keep them room temp before we mix them. Adding the water won't change that.
