If you take it now, it will take away time after you have your child.

Can you work through it?

You can go anytime, but you typically only get 6-12 weeks off..

I would just deal with it until the baby comes. Unless you want to waste your maternity leave while you're still pregnant

I feel the same way you do, I'm 36 weeks and am constantly picking kids up at the daycare, and always on my feet, I'm so tired and its getting really uncomfortable.... You should ask your doctor about taking you out of work early because its causing you pain, I was thinking of doing the same soon.

i dont think so im just in so much pain when i work like i can only stand for so long before i feel tired or nauseous and some people have told me it takes time away and then others have told me you can take as much time as you want but i plan on finding a new job after my maternity leave.

Here you can leave anywhere up to 12 weeks before baby is due. But we also get 15 weeks maternity leave and 37 weeks parental leave afterwords (and we get paid for it from EI)

yea. see like some people say it takes away time from your maternity leave after the babys born and it shortens it but i doubt it im pretty sure you can take as long as you want off i mean that would be pretty stupid if it does take time away before you have the baby because after you have the baby that time is for you to heal up and spend time with the baby. but ive been hearing different things about maternity leave.

you can really go out at any time. Depending on if you qualify for FMLA (if your company has it) you can take up to 12 weeks, altho some might be unpaid.

I just started with my company and will be roughly there 5 months when I go out on leave. I'm going to try very hard to work up until the week before my due date. I want to stay home as much as possible with the baby and My leave options are a bit limited.

you have an HR department, call them! you want to make sure that you're getting what you're eligible for and that you have a job to come back to.

Yeah that's what I always thought, that your body needs those 6 -8 weeks to heal, no matter when you went out. My friend went out a week early and she got 10 weeks leave, they kept her out an extra few weeks because she had a UTI but she still would've gotten the normal 6 weeks even being out a week early.

From what I'm thinking, if you "take as long as you want" you may as well have quit your job.
And the limit of 6-12 weeks is for your employer to choose if they want to keep your job or not. If you are on FMLA, after your weeks are up, they can fill your position.

yeah exactly and i dont think my job will care anyways cus im pretty sure they rather have me be okay to work then me get hurt or something when im working and then they feel like its there fault.
