Moving DS into his own room.

So DS is 3 and we will have his room ready for him to move in to on the 11th (BIL) is finally moving out. I am wondering what I can do to make the room shift a little easier. He has slept in the same room as DH and myself since he was born and I am worried that he may be shocked by the change.

Has anyone else moved their child into a new room this late?

Well he's probably old enough to get excited to decorate his own big boy room, so id take him shopping to pick everything out. Good luck!

DD slept in the same room as DH and I because we lived in a one bedroom. In September, less than a week before her second birthday, we moved to a 3 bedroom. We moved her straight into her new room. We left the doors open the first few nights in case she got scared, but she never did.
