driving me insane

my son has just started solids and he was doing really good with them. The last few days hes been driving me insane though everytime i put some food in his mouth he sticks his hand in right afterwards. I have no idea why he does this and its not just a finger he sticks his whole fist in his mouth. how do i get him to stop? I know theres probably not a way but i had to start feeding him with just a bib on and no clothes cause everything was getting stained from the baby food.

When my son did that I would put his hand/arm down and say no no Gavin with a smile. There not a lot you can do

Depending on his age, he's either not ready for solids or just playing with his food and practicing eating in his own way.
How old is he? And what kind of food?

I just gently pulled DD's hand out of her mouth. I also fed her in just a diaper whenever possible. Lol.

no hes 4 months but i had to start him on baby food a little early because he was eating a bottle every hour and than spitting up like crazy at night cause he was eating to much and the formula wasnt filling him up at all anymore. so the pedi told me to give him baby food twice a day and its been helping with him not spitting up and he only has a bottle about every 3 hours now which is normal. He is also really big for his age

Your LO sounds like mine. More than 20 pounds at 5 months and 96th percentile in length.

no hes ready he sucks on his hand all the time i thought he was gonna be a thumb sucker but hes a whole fist sucker lol.

he weighs almost 18 pounds already and hes 27 inches long hes way above where he should be but he weighed 8 pounds 14 ounces at birth.

dd does this because shes teething. you really cant prevent it unless you hold their hands down/
