I like all of that, aside from packing his stuff up. I think that would push him past the "civil" part and we'd be heading for a nasty breakup.

How do I get the balls to come out and say it? It was easy before when we just fought all the time. I just brought it up during the fight. Now, we don't fight. We barely talk about anything other than our kid or his job. How do I bring it up?

Once you put the LO to bed, casually bring up that you have something important to talk to him about, and that you need his undivided attention.

Sit down face to face and say what you need to.
