Exercise & BF

posted 1st Jan
So Ive decided to kick my butt in gear and start workin out but I was wondering if it can affect my milk supply. Ive heard if you do strenuous exercise it can cause a build-up of lactic acid which can affect the taste. Ive worked damn hard to be able to exclusively breastfeed and don't want to mess it up.

Also...anybody know a good bra? I tried running on the treadmill and LITERALLY had to strap myself down with an ACE bandage!

the best bra I found was at target in their work out section! I got it a size smaller so it is a little snug and I think it provides more support. I wear a 36DD. Ive also heard of women wearing 2 sport bras to try to help with support

I've done a lot to clean up my diet. Ive already lost my baby weight and an extra 7lbs. But Im still about 40lbs away from my goal weight and about 70 away from whats considered "healthy" for my body type.

There are many different "normal" in the situation... There's nothing to say you cannot exercise while breastfeeding, And most women do not notice a decrease in nursing because of the taste change.
That said- many women do notice a decrease in supply. Is important to keep up your intake of water and healthy calories...
