How bad did they suck? I heard it hurts. I plan on requesting it in the butt cheeks not the hip lol & Did it work for you? I really hope it works. My son was born at 32 weeks.. My mission is 36 weeks or more would be great! I will be 16 weeks Sunday & have to get them from 16-36 weeks! Share your experience!

I had gotten a few sets of steroid shots when I was pregnant with my daughter (she was a 32 weeker) I dont know if these shots are the same as what your talking about but they helped her out so much! Good luck ladies!

My first was born at 28 weeks (no reason, just decided he was ready)
I started geting progersterone shots at 26 weeks (until 36). Yes they suck. They hurt and were sore for a couple days after. They also made me kinda moody sometimes. I went into labor a few times between 24-36 weeks but was able to stop it. Had the steroid shots around 30wks. DS2 was born at 36 weeks, healthy as a horse.
All the pain, weekly trips to the dr office, mood swings....I would do it all over again (and prolly will) for a healthy baby!!!

Can't speak personally, but a really good friend had them. She started them about 20 weeks, stopped at 36 And the she was actually induced at 39 weeks (I guess the baby was huge, and she was in pain). She got them in her hip, and did not have side effects except for the pain of the shot; she has a low pain tolerance and is afraid of all things medical. She always said the shot hurt pretty bad, but I guess after awhile it was so routine the pain was not as bad.

Just my second hand experience.

If you have any questions about anything else down the road or anything i'd be happy to help if I can! Or just to talk. It got a little emotional for me around the 28-29 week mark (when I had DS1) I felt like I was a ticking time bomb just waiting to go off.
Best of luck to you!

I have been taking them for 6 weeks now. The actual shot does not hurt that bad. But you will be sore the next couple days. The only thing is that they are not highly effective in all cases. I have been in the hospital with pre-term labor 2 times in the past three weeks. Good luck and hopefully you will have a good experience.

I wish I knew what causes my pre-term labor. I went into labor with my first at 32 weeks and at 29 weeks with this pregnancy. I just took my weekly shot today and it really doesn't hurt that bad you are just sore at the spot where you had the injection for a couple days because it goes into the muscle. If you have ever had a flu shot its kind of like that. Where your arm is sore for a couple days where you were given the shot. I hope this helps. Maybe its different depending on how your body responds???

Idk what caused mine either. I had a wonderful pregnancy and out nowhere I went into labor. The only thing I can think of. Is the night before. I had sex with BD & he hit my cervix REALLY hard. I remember crying it hurt so bad we had to stop. He hits it a time or two even when im not pregnant. & the next day im in pre-term labor. Im planning on refraining from sex around 25 weeks! & I took the depo for a year and it was sore in my arm for a few days so I kinda know what your talking about
