Well i see it this way. If i knew someone who looked at child porn and had never acted on it but also got help, i wouldnt want to trust them around my child just for the simple fact that they might act on that desire then. And im not saying they should be locked in jail im just saying they shouldnt be aloud around children.

Ok heres a good example. My mom used to rent to this lady, her daughter and son. Her son went across the street one day and molested the couples daughter and he was put in juvi, after he got out when he was 18 i think he wasnt aloud around his sisters kids or any kids for that matter even if they were supervised.
Now that he has kids he's still not trusted around them alone. IMO i dont think that fantasy or whatever they want to call it goes away.( sorry if it didnt make sence i have a headache)

no one should be locked up in prison for their desires. its controlling your actions that matter. someone can sit around and think about children all day long....as long as they don't do it they aren't bad people. they just have something "abnormal" going on inside their head to say the least.

i've thought about killing people. i've thought abou having sex with people. i've thought about a hell of a lot of things that i would never even come close to doing. it just happens.

That's not necessarily true. People can change. They do it every day.

It's a touchy subject, so I'm walking all over glass here by saying this, but, I completely disagree that all of these people are "sick". Some of them see a child the way they do and hate themselves for it. Some will NEVER act on it. Some avoid children because they know it's something they're into. Some of these men/women are fully functional human beings that may see a child as attractive, and never think twice about acting on their urges.

Its really hard to make that judgment and say all of them need to be locked away but i really want to say yes all them need to be locked away. An alcoholic is ALWAYS considerd an ALCOHLIC there is always the chance of going back even after years of not drinking. same with a child molestor. there is ALWAYS that chance.

No one is saying you should trust someone who may touch your child. But depriving them a normal life because they aren't considered "normal" is inhumane. They haven't done anything wrong if they haven't acted on it.
