Confused...

So im 37 weeks, 4cm Dilated, Mucus plug gone, But I have a hard time telling whats a contraction. There are times my stomach will tighten with no pain, and then there are times I have mild cramp like pains, and then other times really strong cramp pains. They never last long maybe a few times in one hour and then just go away. The doctors had sent me to the Hospital but after 5 hours I was sent home because I didnt Dilate anymore. The babys head is waaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy down and they said they are surprised my water hasnt broke but also with where her head is at it might stop my water from breaking. I hardly sleep at night because im up every 30min - an hour having to pee and theres so much pain from her head that its hard for me to lay down. The doctors have told me they think they are a week or two off on my due date so I could possibly be 38 weeks or close to 39 weeks. When I was 35 weeks she was 85% 6lb 10oz, and now im at 37 weeks shes 90% 7lbs. So really I just dont know when I should go to the Emergency Room. I have a feeling when I go to the Doctor thursday shes going to send me to the Hospital. I feel like ive dilated more...I know you cant tell when youre dilateing but the past three days ive seen a huge change in my stomach where its getting lower and the pain from her head is getting stronger.

The only way the hospital will keep you is if your past 5cm dialted your water has broke or your contractions are 5 mins apart.

Dilation and effaced mean nothing.

I walked in for my induction not contracting, 5 cm and 100% they had absolutely no idea how I was not in labor. I thought I'd been contracting all night, but it was just the baby sitting on a nerve.....

Thats pretty much what they had told me when they sent me to the Hospital, they said they dont know why my water hasnt broke yet, but since I didnt dilate to a 5 within the 6 hours I was there they just sent me home. Im hopeing ill know somthing thursday when I go.

if by something you mean when you'll go into labor, you won't. The dr. will not be able to tell you a thing about when it will happen .you're just going to have go with the flow. you'll know a contraction when you feel it. The only think I can compare it to is food poisoning. If you start to feel like you're going to smurf yourself when you get a cramp, that's what they usually start out as (at least for me)

lol nah im hopeing theyll tell me somthing about my dilation. If I havent had the baby by 39 weeks im going to get them to induce me because my husband is deploying the week of my 40 weeks and if hes gone and I go into labor they wont let him come home so he wont get to hold her or anything for almost 9 months :/

Knowing your dilation doesn't change anything and checking can introduce bacteria (most dr's won't check you, but your's could be different.) Good luck with induction! I have a history of going over due and having complications due to that. My dr. still won't induce me the week of my due date. She'll make an apt. for the following week.

Plenty of military families have to wait. I honestly hope she doesn't, because that's being selfish and could cause harm to your baby.

I guess we will see. The Doctor said she would talk with us about everything thursday. I know a lot have to wait and it sucks. We are just praying things go good.

actually most doctors do check you from 36 weeks on until you have the baby. I had 2 different obs for both of my kids and they both did the same thing. Starting at 36 weeks they checked me every week until i had the baby

Thats what my doctor has been doing. Starting at 36 weeks I go once a week and they check me, and they said its perfectly fine to do that.

ask them about stripping your membranes that might work. none of the self inducing stuff works. Basically your baby will come when there ready unless theres something wrong

Ok   Ill talk to them about that thursday.
