"Empty" feeling = no milk?

posted 1st Jan
both breasts feel "empty" and usually at least one if them feels engorged. Does this mean there's no milk left? I'm so scared LO won't get enough

Could mean your milk is regulated. I stopped filling up when LO was 3-4 mo and I'd have let down and full up once he started nursing.

Nope! As long as your baby is peeing and pooping fine, he or she is getting enough. Sadly, I stopped bfing because my boobs never felt full. I didn't realize that it's just your body regulating your milk production. Totally normal!

My breasts always feel 'empty' unless I go 6hours or more without feeding/pumping. After two hours I get 3/4 ounces or more pumping, even though I don't feel full.

How is your baby? Are there lots of wet diapers? Gaining weight well?

This is a fantastic site; http://kellymom.com/bf/got-milk/supply-worries/low-supply/

If you are worried, contact a lactation consultant or LLL. Or if there are breastfeeding clinics in your area, go to one of those, tomorrow if possible.

Best of luck.

Luna is only 9 days old. I just noticed this feeling today when she turned my left breast down And I had to give her my right, which I've been trying to let heal. Both now feel empty and I'm scared when she wakes up in 3 hours, there'll be nothing there

I'm usually dripping so this is odd to me.

Your boobs WILL make milk even when they feel totally empty.

Boobs are NEVER truly empty and baby's diapers are a MUCH better indicator of if baby is getting enough!

Mine is only 11 days.. when mine feel that way.. I squeeze some out just to make sure.. comes out easily. So im reassured.. seems like mine feel empty too but not the case.

I just bought a supplement called mother's love from sunflower shoppe.. havent decided if I wanna use it yet..was pricey and not sure I need it..well pricing meaning $30-40 for 30day supply
