tattoos while bf?

i was just wondering if you're allowed to get tattoos while breastfeeding. i know you shouldn't while pregnant.. i know the ink is unlikely to run through your blood stream, but the chance of infection could cause something?

It's not recommended for the same reasons you aren't supposed to while pregnant. While low the risk of infection is still there.

I got one while breastfeeding. It didn't cause any issues for me but the guy I went through was very, very, very clean.

ya, i think there's a low percentage of something bad happening. you're a lot more likely to get an infection with piercings

That's what I thought and I know my tattoo artist personally. He knew I was breast feeding and felt comfortable enough to do it.  

As long as you get it done professionally at a shop and not in a home and you take care of it, you should be fine. I got wings on my back and had no problems.

I wouldn't just in case.

i think i'll be fine if i get one. i have 4 tattoos and never got an infection with any of them. i wanted to get one after baby is born with my bf before he leaves for 6 months for training.

any of the inks used are high in heavy metals, I would research ink before getting one.
