Maternity leave

posted 1st Jan
I am schedule to take maternity leave starting the 13th however I have just talked it over with my boss and we are moving it up to the 3rd. With the contractions and back pains I have been having lately plus already dilating I feel it is better to go on leave a little earlier. My company is letting me take as much time as I need off so I don't have that issue to deal with. Cory just started his new job and still has his old one so I think financially it is okay too.

I am the only employee there during my shifts and I do not want to chance going into labor while at work. It is harder on my boss to get someone to come in and complete my shift then to just schedule someone else.

My company does not offer any kind of paid leave. But I have already covered the bill for this month, February, and March. With Cory's pay we should be find without my income. I also already stocked up on diapers, diaper wipes and ect for the baby. I am breastfeeding, so I shouldn't have to worry about buying formula. If by chance I do need formula I could always go to my local WIC office or I good through the Help Me Grow Program locally and they would help me out. But I feel I have all the bases covered.

Thats good you get to rest before labor. Sorry I wasn't trying to be nosey or anything. My STD doesn't take effect until today and Im not sure what to expect as far as taking off before my due date since the main office is closed today and I couldn't talk to them about it before today since I technically didn't have it. I didn't have it the first time around so im unsure as to what they cover. Its killing me not having my "ducks in a row." lol

My Help Me Grow rep tells me I am the most prepared parent she has ever had in her program. But that is me. I usually don't do something unless I think it all the way through. I have been that way my whole life. That is why I waited until I was 26 to have baby.
