If we did choose Darius, I'd have to reflect a bit more on which pronunciation we'd use. Persian people have told me it's pronounced dar-ee-us (as in Darius the Great- the old Persian king of 5th century BC), and as far as I can tell that's how it was originally pronounced in Latin and Greek. But it does seem like most Americans pronounce it dare-ee-us, so that might be more straightforward here. It'll require a bit more reflection if we do decide to go with this name.
