Its true our bodies can't absorb some vitamins. Liquids are best and some are bound with other particles which make them.better digested. But why would your doctor want to "heal" your children or "prevent" illness? The would be out of business. They are there to "treat " your symptoms not "cure" your ailment. They are trained and taught that way. They don't ask about diet and only.push vitamins they can inject I the office like b12. Money money money. Its sad really.

Oh alcohol is bad and a no.no for fever reducing. I think she just meant heavy layers. I don't do that either or do cold cloths or baths. That causes shivering which can reduce to fast then increase too fast and can cause febrile seizure which are harmless but scary.

Depressed immune system is different. But over 104 and I'm doing something probably a luke warm bath and cloths, room temp fluids and such.

But as soon as the symptoms are treated the fever can drop most times. 105 is high but not deadly.

I like this post.

I don't give either to reduce the fever. I do give it if he is noticeably so uncomfortable that he's not eating or drinking or if he's in pain. But normally I don't even keep baby Tylenol or Motrin in the house. I don't take either, ever. My husband does though.

Luckily LO doesn't get sick often. He went through this spell when he was 9-10 months where he got a fever every other week for 6 weeks. Since then he's been fine.
