She never slapped, but she'd pull hair sometimes.

I just showed her how to do "gentles". Once she'd pull my hair or be rough, I told her no in a stern voice, grabbed her hand, rubbed it gently where she was rough or if she pulled my hair, I'd put her hand on my hair and rub softly while saying "gentles". She's 3 years old now and will still do gentles.

My son is 16 months, he has never slapped but he's entering the pulling hair phase. If he can get ahold of my 5 year olds head its blood curling screams and laughing (yes he laughs while he does it).

At this point he gets a 2 minute time out in his playpen when he does it. So far its seemed to slow him down but he does still do it sometimes.

Yes, he's 15 months and still does it. I tell him no and say that hurts, be gentle and rub his hand. He hasn't learned yet but I'm hoping he'll get it soon lol.

See about two months ago I we tought him how to pat the table and his drums. I think he supposes it's a all the same.

The pulling hair thing is the worst!

We use to laugh when our son would pat our chests when he was younger. He is 12 months now and he literally slaps your face lol I don't think he realizes he is actually hitting though.. That is our fault though. I just try to grab his hand and say no hitting, be gentle and then redirect him. He pulls hair sometimes but not too often.

My 12 month old doesn't slap or pull hair. She pulled hair at like 2 or 3 months but that was her learning the grabby phase
