Ok so I'm watching a movie with my so and step daughter and all of a sudden start to get uncomfortable .. I lay back to try and get comfy but then I get these pains in my groins and my belly gets really tight.. the pains are off and on as well . I have been getting them since about 930ish . I'm not really sure what this could be . I have to breath through them but I can bare them . Now the pain is slowing creeping up into my lower belly and back . What should I do ? I'm 39w1d

drink water, take a warm bath or shower and try to see if they go away. could be early labor, braxton hicks, or the real thing! if after a few hours they dont go away, call L&D to ask what they would suggest you to do. i felt like that two days before starting labor with my DD.

That would be contractions. Start timing them.

Start to time them. They sound like the beginning of labor.

She doesn't need to call yet. She needs to time them for a while and make sure it's the real thing.

To see what they think she should do? If they've been going on since 9:30 it's been an hour and they haven't let up.

Sounds like contractions to me. Start timing them. Also I would either lay down, or take a shower to see if they stop. If not try walking. If they dont go away call your doctor or L&D and see what they say. Good luck!
