That is sad that he isn't protected.

I think it's unfair on him because he entered into the agreement thinking that he would have no obligation to a child which they have stated is "biologically theirs" and therefore he shouldn't need to pay. I hope he kept copies of the documents he signed!

That is bullsmurf. They had an agreement so the man should not pay a dime for the child. If I were him and forced to pay child support against the contract I signed then I would petition to take my parental rights back. I would be pissed if I had to pay for a child I never got to see or interact with.

I think the state went after him for child support since one of the moms went for welfare/state help.

The state automatically files when you apply for assistance. They require that you name the father or they can legally deny you. She could have said she was unsure though

So if you went through a sperm bank where it is by number not name (anonymous to even the child I thought) you can't get state assistance?
