My son learned DH's name at about 15-18 months and called him ONLY that til I started calling him Daddy too. Now he only calls him "AJ" when DH pretends he can't hear him or DS otherwise can't get his attention with "daddy"

He calls me by name when I'm far away (like a social gathering or if DH is across the park/store with him), but not otherwise.

Macie calls DH Dee. Which is his nickname and what everyone calls him.. When she's being all cute she will call him Daddy. But since she has been able to talk shes always called him Dee.

My 4 year old went through that phase. She still calls SO, Christopher, when he pisses her off.

Our three year old calls us by name sometimes. It's good that she know your name. We taught her our first and last name and her first and last name.

DS is going to be three soon and occasionally calls DH hun because that's what he hears me say. It isn't the norm, though.

My son went from calling his daddy, dada or dad to Mikey over night and didn't call him anything but by variations of his first name for a few months sometime between ages 3 and 4. And DH Hated it. It got to the point DH would not respond to ME unless I was calling him dad, dada or daddy- to set an example for our son. I'd say it's a normal phase.

Hahaha that is so my two year old too. He doesn't really care either, he's not the kind of person who obsesses over things like that. He knows he's her dad. Which I love, I hate people who are insecure about stupid little things! When he'll leave for work Emerson will be like "Later Kev!" It's so funny.

I called my parents Marge and Chris for awhile when I was around 2 or 3. Probably because that's what I heard them being called. It made the mad lol. I grew out of it. I'm sure yours will too.

It's normal.. I went through the same thing with my DD.. I just started calling him Daddy like you are, and she caught on.. Now she only calls him Shawn if she is mad at him for something which I think is funny, but we correct her.. She will catch on.
