I'm just curious on what methods everyone prefers to do. What age did you start.
was it affective for you at all. Like did it work getting them to sleep all night or no?

I'm doing a paper for English class and decided this would be my topic. So personal input would be nice (first hand) thanks.

I have no experience but with.a bit of controlled crying method.

My kiddies slept all night since birth. Lol

Thanks ladies.

I have never done CIO. WIO, yes. CIO, definitely not. When a kid is genuinely CRYING, it's because they have a need that needs to be met.

DS slept with me until he was about one and a half. Then he did CIO until he slept on his own. LO falls asleep on or with me or DH. Sometimes though he is inconsolable. It's not a choice of letting him CIO its a matter of NOTHING else works. He will have eaten, played his little heart out, had tylenol/advil, everything and nothing works so he will just cry him self to sleep.

So you did controlled crying then? You tried to stop the crying and went in and calm lo.down but it didn't work?

Co-sleeping. Tried CIO when I thought she was ready for her own bed at almost 3... Didn't work. She got so worked up in 5 mins she puked. Never did it again and she's still in my bed at almost 4

My kids bedshared so there was no reason to cry - even when they woke, they just made enough noise to wake me...not even a cry then. They transitioned easily to their own bed with no tears & no night wakings. I also do self weaning from the boob....so to me it's all part of the greater whole of just trusting they outgrow it all in their own time.

I don't know what I'd be considered. I sit with DD next to her bed while she cries and try to console her. But I don't let her get out of bed.

Yeah lol. Sorry didn't really know what controlled crying was. We don't leave him in his bead. He is either laying on me or laying in my bed with DH so its very controlled
