I dont just shop at one place most of the time. i go to Aldi, Sav-A-Lot, Walmart and Price Chopper depending on what I need. And I ALWAYS buy staple that can make multiple meals first. I stick to store brands. make a big enough meal that can last a week. Etc.

I definitely understand. You have to do what you have to do. I use coupons, shop sales, and we save left overs. I wish I could get our budget lower! I do pretty well until my fiance goes with me. Men do not understand grocery budgets, lol.
