Bedrest fitness
posted 31st Dec
I want to incorporate yoga and some light weight lifting into my daily routine. Doc says I can do up to 15lbs (per arm, if I do one arm at a time) and I can do any seated or laying yoga and gentle standing yoga (until I'm actually on bed rest), but no core and no lifting my body weight, not lunges or anything like that).
Ideas? It's so limited and will get more limited if I go on bed rest (very likely), but I want to keep my flexibility and my strength as much as I can so labor isn't as bad and so I can actually care for my baby when she comes without feeling like a weakling!
Before pregnancy I ran 2 miles and did 45 mind on be elliptical and lifted moderate weights and did Pilates and such. I just don't want to be fat or totally limp noodle when I'm done!

Maybe start with simple stretching exercises, like while sitting and legs straight stretch to toes and hold for 30 seconds. Can also sit with legs hanging over bed and lift leg still bent for eight counts.

I'm allowed to walk now. And do most household activities. I only put bedrest because that's where I'm headed.

I haven't found any that doesn't focus on lunges and pelvis opening and pelvic strength---and I can't do pelvic exercises.

Why don't you text Walter and ask him? He has a pretty vast knowledge of exercises and regressions to exercises. I'd ask but I hate getting in the middle of his fitness talk.
