Sounds similar to the apartment we were in before we moved into the house.
Our front window didn't close all the way, so I was always having to dust due to the amount of sand. (Our place always smelled like dust.) Not to mention it was hard as smurf to open.
The front door wasn't sealed off. On our first night in, a baby snake slithered in under our front door. When we got them to seal the door off, the top deadbolt wouldn't latch. (There were 2 dead bolts altogether on the front door).
The top of our sliding glass door didn't close all the way. One time while I was about 5 months pregnant, a huge spider crawled into the house through that small opening.
Our screen door on the sliding glass door, was always very difficult. They said it was because the frame didn't fit properly, but refused to fix it.
