Oh jesus. It's not that hard to budget! Programs need fixed. I was on FS a few years ago. They gave me $575 A MONTH for me and one infant. And they forced me to have it for 6 months when I only needed itfor 2 or 3. Then they wouldn't take the money back at the end!!! That alone could have saved the government $2k. I only spent maybe $1k of that on myself. And that happens with more than just me I'm sure.

And I think welfare and SNAP and all of those SHOULD be offered but the requirements should have been MUCH more stringent. And they need to make it hard to live off of long term for able bodied people.

And I know that's a state thing. I just rant about it. Lol. They need to take some of these overseas bases out. We need to not be in Afghanistan. It's a waste of money and those people don't want change anyway.

Uh, why? That's insane. How can those people (who make buckets of money already and make stupid decisions) get a pay raise yet federal employees have been on a pay freeze for awhile and will be for a lot longer?

The article I just read said the last minute measure was used to prevent a pay increase for the legislators.

So...... this is all locked in now... and maybe I'm stupid... but HOW IN THE WORLD... does taxing the rich... and then extending unemployment for a year help the economy? It's like the 2% will be paying for a years worth of unemployment. Instead of letting them HIRE those people on unemployment, they're just going to tax the smurf out of them.

And what about the rest of the debt? Sheesh

It's so depressing.
At least Howard Dean has been honest about the only way to continue spending like they are doing is to tax the middle class. I'm not advocating taxing the middle class, just pointing out that he is being honest.
To add insult to injury, many of the Ds are saying that this move is just the beginning of more taxation. of course, there is no mention of spending decreases.

Increasing taxation would work....if they also cut spending.
